Want to boost your sales? Here’s a golden rule: you need to reach the right audience with the right message at the right time.

Nail this, and I promise you’ll see sales flowing in from Facebook or any other marketing channel.

But remember, you won’t achieve this overnight. Continuous improvement of these three elements is key, and it usually takes around three months to get it just right.

How do you do it?

Before diving into the “how,” let’s look at how most businesses are currently advertising on Facebook. Many companies try to sell their products directly, saying things like, “I sell this, here are its specs, message us to buy or call us.”

While this can work for some, it’s not the most effective approach.

In a previous article, we discussed how only 2-4% of people are ready to buy at any given time. These are the ones that every company is competing for.

So, what’s wrong with this direct selling method?

There are a few issues, but the biggest ones are that people don’t log onto Facebook to shop, so they often ignore ads and keep scrolling. Secondly, your ad is reaching people who don’t know you. If you think you can sell a product to someone who doesn’t trust you yet, think again.

What’s the New Approach?

Create an ad that grabs attention and makes potential customers click on it. From there, they should be directed to a specially designed page with all the information they need about your product. Offer them something for free if possible, and ask for their contact details. Then, follow up with them to sell your product. If that’s not feasible, make an irresistible offer right on the spot.

Grab the attention of potential customers and get them to click, rather than trying to sell your product outright.

The Goal of Your Product/Service Page:

Build trust and encourage visitors to take the next step in their buying journey. Collect their contact information because this will help you reach them later, as they are part of the 96% who aren’t ready to buy immediately.

The Goal of Your Sales Mechanism:

Sell your product or service, whether by getting people to leave their details for a follow-up call or by enabling them to purchase directly from your website.

Those who buy right away are part of the 4% who are ready to make a purchase now.

For the 96% who aren’t ready yet, you now have their information, and they are part of your target audience.

Here’s a tip: Anyone who visits your product page is part of your target audience, even if they don’t buy immediately.

For those who don’t buy, run a follow-up campaign. Keep building trust and gradually introduce them to your product or service. When the time is right and they’re ready to buy, they’ll think of you because you’ve been consistently visible to them for at least three months.

Our Marketing Services: Under these Terms of Service, we provide an online and mobile marketing channel where we display your Products (as chosen and approved by us) to customers through our funded marketing campaigns. The customer acknowledges that the company does not own the products or any inventory at any stage, as we provide our services under these Terms of Service. The products remain the property of the customer until successful delivery to the customer or return to the customer.

Customer Responsibilities: You may only use the channel for lawful purposes and in a legal manner. You must comply with all applicable laws in the United States. You must ensure your products match the images on the channel and the information provided to us and must avoid providing misleading information about your products or any trademark on the channel. If we find you in violation of these Terms of Service, you must assume responsibility in accordance with these Terms.

Our Policies: The Terms of Service apply to all activities or transactions conducted on or through the channel. If a customer or third-party brand owner notifies the company, or through court order or government directive, that the products or any part thereof infringe on intellectual property rights under US laws (which include but are not limited to copyrights, patents, database rights, trademarks, designs, know-how, and confidential information) or the rights of others, we may remove those products from the channel at our sole discretion or upon receiving a written request from the customer for product removal within a reasonable timeframe.
